Trends Autumn/Winter 2012 / 2013: Retro Is The Future

In this peculiar time machine which are the catwalks, yesterday is worth today, for the future we imagined him years ago, and the present is irrelevant. If the last years ran, why change it? So designers resort to this autumn/winter 2012 / 2013 to the successes of past decades to create their current designs. Mainly inspired by age 50 or 60, mixed with a little 70’s to garnish. Retro is fashion.

Printed wallpaper

Or what is the wallpaper that decorated the walls of the series tell me until it has reached today, which has crept into the parades of Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu and Prada making dresses, suits and shirts are filled with kaleidoscopic drawings that are dizzying.

Retro silhouettes

Perfect secretariats that are salt and pepper from the series Mad Men, which had the talent to get to much higher but the time would be more inept, invading the parades at the orders of Heads. Nina Ricci, Rochas or Rodarte they use their point shirts, their pencil skirts, and that always impeccable style.

I like the twist that give in Nina Ricci, as if always formal and efficient secretariat is had desmelenado, danced and drank drinks all night and come the next day to work at the office wearing the same clothes, dressing all running or with blurred night makeup, raising all kinds of rumors on their backs.

The refined retro

Other firms have renovated retro by adding a touch of sophisticated and contemporary. I love the new air that have given to Valentino designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli. Everything that comes out of your pencils has certain aftertaste to the 1960s that I love.

Retro avant-garde is the style of Derek Lam. Is renewed with leather, with bottlenecks in contrast, they can wear it longhaired and older women because know to take the best from each decade.

Jonathan Saunders copy silhouettes with old flavor but updates them with colors and fabrics.

The future of this autumn-winter is more retro than ever.
