Much of the interior was inaccessible and occupied by farmers who practiced itinerant agriculture through burning. Saba and Sarawak export timber. Cultivated land represents 14.9% of the total soil. In the industrial sector, the production of cement, electronic devices and tires deserve mention. Malaysia’s main trading partners are Japan, the United States of America, Singapore and Germany.
