Great Round Trip in the USA

By | September 30, 2021

A road trip in magnificent national parks, wine tasting in the Napa Valley, island hopping in Hawaii and a city trip in New York are just some of what this unique and contrast-filled round trip in the USA offers.

According to best-medical-schools, the USA is full of contrasts and therefore a tour of several states is an exciting experience both culturally and in terms of nature. You will see volcanoes, beaches, bears, big cities, whales, Route 66, vineyards and much more.

Your journey begins in Las Vegas, where you can stroll down the Strip and explore the national and state parks outside the city. From here, take Route 66 toward Yosemite. Here you can expect fantastic animal and nature experiences among waterfalls and large sequoia trees. The next stop on your road trip is Napa Valley, where you have plenty of time to visit the area’s many vineyards and taste the good wine. On the way to San Francisco, you can stop at the Muir Woods National Monument, where you can hike among the large redwood trees. Upon arrival in San Francisco, you can reach the center of your hotel, and enjoy a few days in one of the world’s most charming cities. From San Francisco you fly on to Maui. Here you have a rental car and apartment hotel in Kihei for five days. It gives you plenty of time to explore the island on your own and go on day trips to Hana and Haleakala National Park, among others. From Maui you fly to Oahu, where you can relax on Waikiki Beach or explore the island by local bus. The last stop on the trip is New York, where four days have been set aside to set you on a journey of discovery in the city.

The tour can be extended with extra nights and you can buy tours and experiences, such as a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon, a whale safari in Hawaii or a gospel show in New York.

It is also possible to change the route if you e.g. want to see more or other islands in Hawaii, hike in Yellowstone National Park, experience the charm of the south or jazz music in New Orleans etc.

Day 1: Departure from Scandinavia and arrival in Las Vegas

Departure from Scandinavia to Las Vegas with arrival the same day. Upon arrival at Las Vegas International Airport, pick up your car and drive to your hotel. The rest of the day is at your own disposal in Las Vegas.

Day 2: On a journey of discovery in Las Vegas

Las Vegas is open 24 hours a day, with everything from live shows to exciting casinos. Here you can take a walk along Las Vegas Boulevard, also known as “The Strip”. Each hotel and casino has its own theme and is fantastic to look at. Climb to the top of the Stratosphere Hotel, the tallest building west of the Mississippi River. Also visit the most famous hotels, such as Ceasars Palace, The Venetian and Paris for luxury shopping. If you are instead looking to bargain, you can go to one of the many outlet stores, which have designer clothes at discounted prices. Also, do not miss the fountain show at the Bellagio Hotel in the evenings. Bellagio offers a unique performance with a dramatic combination of music, water and light.

Day 3: Route 66 and the Grand Canyon

Today you can choose to make a day trip to the Grand Canyon. The road to the Grand Canyon passes the impressive Hoover Dam and along the classic Route 66. With its overwhelming size and stunning colors, the Grand Canyon is one of the world’s natural wonders. The huge size and brilliant colors make the place unique. In the area around the South Rim there are several viewpoints that can be reached by both shuttle bus and car. There are also many hiking trails in the area. Bright Angel Lodge has an excellent vantage point where you can also enjoy a beautiful gallery and exciting exhibitions. From the Grand Canyon, you return to Las Vegas. You can choose to exchange an overnight stay in Las Vegas for one at the Grand Canyon or take a helicopter ride to the Grand Canyon from Las Vegas.

Day 4: Las Vegas to Visalia

Today you leave Las Vegas and drive on to California. Today it is longer to drive, so it is good to start early. On the way you pass Death Valley National Park, among other places. The visitor center is located in Furnace Creek and is a great base from which to see the park. Then continue to Visalia.

Day 5: Visalia to Yosemite National Park

The trip to Yosemite National Park is short and you will stay at a lodge in the park. You can not miss the striking beauty of Yosemite. Here you will see impressive cliffs, such as El Capital Monolith, Glacier Point and Half Dome, as well as large waterfalls that rush down for them. In Yosemite there are also many small rivers and meadows as well as groves with large sequoia trees. In Yosemite Village you can visit the visitor center, from where many hiking trails start. Today the trip goes to Napa Valley, one of the most famous wine districts in the USA. The first vineyards started here around 1850 and today there are over 400. Along Highway 29, the vineyards are like pearls on a string, and pretty much all offer tastings. Napa is best known for Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, but many other grape varieties are grown in the area.
