Overview
There are good state hospitals in the larger towns on all islands. The dental care is also good. It is recommended to take out travel health insurance and travel repatriation insurance. Money
Currency
Huge stone coins (rai) are still used on Yap, but not for ordinary transactions. The US dollar is legal tender.
Credit cards
Common credit cards (especially Visa and Mastercard) are accepted by hotels, shops and tourism companies.
ATMs
Bank cards With the credit card and pin number, money can be withdrawn from ATMs. To be on the safe side, travelers should always have an alternative source of money such as cash. Attention: Travelers who want to pay with their bank customer card abroad and withdraw money should find out from their bank about the possibility of using their card before starting their journey.

Traveler’s checks are not accepted in the Federated States of Micronesia.

The US dollar is recommended as the currency to take with you. Changing from euros to dollars is hardly possible, except in a few hotels.
