The Maldives has achieved near universal access to primary education with over 99% of children attending primary school according to UNICEF data from 2018. The government has also invested heavily in its educational system over recent decades with a particular focus on developing technical skills amongst its youth population through vocational training programs offered by technical schools across the country.
