The two islands of Trinidad and Tobago are separated by a 19 km channel known as the Gulf of Paria. All levels are provided free of charge by public schools; however private schools are also available at all levels but require tuition fees. Higher education in Trinidad and Tobago is offered at universities such as University Of the West Indies; University Of Trinidad And Tobago; University Of Southern Caribbean; University College Of Caribbean among others.
